Chronicles of the Raven
It’s April 10, and I’m painfully near the point of hitting “go” to publish the e-book. Once that’s available, I’ll hit “go” to publish the physical book through Amazon followed by the “go” to publish the physical book through Ingram Spark, which will allow world-wide purchases of the book. This has been a crazy learning curve - discovering many of the ins and outs of the self-publishing world - hiring a marketing professional, website designer, graphic designer who also handles the formatting for the various types of book.
Having gone through the process of learning to be a recording musician, I knew there would be a learning curve, and that there would be a huge amount of industry-specific details I’d have to learn, but wow, who knew that a couple of companies had such out-sized influence on an entire industry. Meanwhile, I’m spending hours each day in the recording booth laying down and editing my portions of the audiobook. I have the amazing good fortune of co-recording this book with the multiple award-winning audiobook narrator Elizabeth Wiley. I’ve worked with Liz for years on a variety of different projects, and as I approached the thought of recording the audiobook for The Gathering Storm, she was the obvious choice. We’ve split the book, with Liz recording the sections that are written from a female character’s perspective, and I’m recording those from a male character’s.
So much is happening in such a short time. I hope that in the coming few days, I can report exciting developments!!!
